What Is Cross-Cultural Catalyst (CCC)?

Cross-Cultural Catalyst (CCC) is a practical field guide designed to help believers create meaningful cross-cultural exposure experiences using the nations God has already brought to their own city.

CCC is modeled after what Global Frontier Missions does in Clarkston, Georgia—an unreached environment in the United States where immigrants, refugees, and international students from dozens of people groups live side by side. We have had hundreds of people have their lives impacted and their worldview transformed through the teachings and experiences that are available in this kit.

The goal of CCC is not just to transfer information, but it is designed to provide hands-on experiences to help replicate exposure and engagement in your own local context.

CCC exists to cultivate:
Awareness, Obedience, and Action.

What CCC Is:

  • A guided exposure experience, not a classroom course
  • A toolkit you can adapt to your city, church, or group
  • A way to help people step outside their comfort zone and encounter God’s heart for the nations firsthand
  • A bridge between biblical conviction and lived practice

What CCC Is Not:

  • A step-by-step curriculum that must be followed in order
  • A comprehensive training on world religions or cultures
  • A replacement for long-term discipleship or theological study
  • An event that requires expertise or perfection to lead

How to Use This Field Guide

CCC is intentionally non-linear.

You are not expected to complete everything in this module. Instead, CCC works best when you select a few components intentionally.

A typical CCC experience includes:

  1. One biblical or missional teaching
  2. One cross-cultural engagement
  3. One intentional time of reflection and prayer That’s it.

You can run CCC as:

  • A one-day experience
  • A weekend experience
  • A small group or leadership retreat
  • A planning guide for future engagement Faithful obedience matters more than perfect execution.

Facilitator Posture & Guiding Principles

You do not need to be an expert to lead CCC.

Your role is to be a guide and fellow learner, creating space for reflection, prayer, and obedience.

Keep these principles in mind:

  • Lead with prayer — apart from God, this is just an experience
  • Expect discomfort — growth often begins there
  • Facilitate, don’t lecture — ask good questions
  • Be trauma-aware — participation should always be invitational
  • Leave time to debrief — reflection is where meaning forms
  • Trust the Holy Spirit — transformation is His work, not yours

How CCC Fits with Step In

CCC is designed to activate obedience.
The Step In Study is designed to form conviction and discern calling.
