For many participants, CCC functions as the **next step after the **Step In Study—moving from a short introduction to a more focused exploration of God’s heart for the nations.

What This Teaching Covers

The Biblical Basis of Missions traces the unified story of Scripture—from Genesis to Revelation—showing that God’s desire to bless all peoples is central to His redemptive plan.

Key themes include:

  • God’s original design to fill the earth with His glory
  • The scattering of peoples and languages
  • God’s promise to Abraham to bless all nations
  • Israel’s calling among the nations
  • Jesus’ fulfillment of the promise and the Church’s commission
  • The certainty of worship from every tribe, tongue, and nation This teaching provides the theological foundation needed to move confidently into cross-cultural engagement.

How This Teaching Is Typically Used (Recommended)

In most CCC contexts, this teaching is delivered as:

  • ~60 minutes of teaching
  • followed by ~20 minutes of guided discussion in small groups This structure allows participants to receive solid biblical grounding without rushing into application too quickly.

Choose One Teaching Format

You do not need to use every resource below. Choose the format that best fits your context and capacity.

Option 1 — Watch a Long-Form Teaching (Most Turnkey)

  • Use the long-form video teaching on Biblical Basis of Missions (video at the beginning)

  • Watch together as a group or assign for individual viewing

  • Use discussion questions afterward to process and reflect This option works well if:

  • You prefer a turnkey approach

  • You want consistent teaching delivery

  • You are facilitating rather than teaching live

Option 2 — Teach It Yourself (Facilitator-Led)

  • Use the Biblical Basis of Missions slide deck

  • Reference the teaching notes and handouts as needed

  • Teach the content live in your own voice and style This option works well if:

  • You are comfortable teaching

  • You want to contextualize examples

  • You are adapting CCC for a specific audience

Option 3 — Hybrid Approach

  • Assign the video for pre-work
  • Use your in-person time for:
    • summary highlights
    • guided discussion
    • prayer and reflection This option is especially helpful when time together is limited.

Discussion & Debrief (After Teaching)

After the teaching, transition into discussion rather than extended lecturing.

Suggested prompts:

What is one main takeaway from seeing the Bible as one cohesive story - from Genesis to Revelation - about God's plan to redeem all peoples for His glory?

Is this a familiar perspective for you, or is it something you've never noticed or considered before?

If this really is God’s heart since the beginning, how might we live our lives differently?

Encourage brief reflections or Scripture references, and leave room for prayer and reflection before moving on.
