3.1 Choosing Activities (Start Here)
Before selecting an activity, consider:
- Who is participating? (individuals, small group, church, students)
- Is this a first-time CCC group or a more experienced one?
- How much time do we have?
- Do we have the capacity to facilitate emotional processing?
- Will we be staying in one location, or is travel feasible?
- What level of discomfort is appropriate for your group? Use the guidance below to choose intentionally.
Recommended Starting Points
- First-time CCC participants
→ Start with Prayer Walk or Mapping Your City - Groups ready for interaction
→ Add Visiting a Place of Worship or United Nations Cocktail Party - Facilitated, prepared environments
→ Consider Refugee Loss Simulation One meaningful experience is better than many rushed ones.
You can think of the activities in three categories:
- Low barrier (observation-based)
- Moderate engagement (interaction-based)
- High impact (emotionally immersive) Choose accordingly.
